I first discovered clay as a teenager at school. I instantly fell in love and have been experimenting with clay ever since. I finished my degree in ceramics in 2013, completed my teacher training and have worked as a ceramics specialist art teacher in a secondary school for 12 years. I love teaching ceramics - it's so accessible for students and I get to enjoy and share so many different projects and techniques. After having my two children I began making my own pottery again and am enjoying exploring and rediscovering my own style.
Most of my pottery is wheel thrown and decorated using bright colours, along with a variety of drawing and light relief techniques including sgraffito, freehand drawing, painting and patterned texture. I make functional ware, designed to be used and enjoyed everyday - something to make the small moments in daily life more joyful. Everything I make is consciously crafted to be bright, vibrant and full of life.
